Course concerning the process of closing the violin body according to the traditional Cremonese method

THE COURSE LASTS A WEEK AND IT’S ESPECIALLY THOUGHT FOR PROFESSOINAL VIOLIN MAKERS

The course is structured as follows:

During the first morning, a seminar will explain deeply the professional, artistic, stylistic and commercial aspect of the method proposed by the Academia.

In the afternoon, all the required materials will be examined. The materials shall accompany each enrolled student who can already have them or the Academia can provide them on payment. The kit elements are listed below.

After a careful examination of all the materials, the belly and the ribs will be glued.

Then the course continues with the belly and back purfling.

Progressively we continue with the channel, and the edges and the corners will be completed.

Finally, the neck will be set.

Elements of the requested INDISPENSABLE EQUIPMENT FOR EACH STUDENT

  • a belly, with f holes and its bass bar, already finished and placed in the right position, with flat borders,

  • a back with flat borders,

  • the ribs already glued and completed by linings,

  • purfling

  • a neck, with its fingerboard and ready for setting.

The cost of the equipment, if provided by the Academia, is € 700 (this material is to be requested when enrolling)
